The snow-capped peaks of the Rwenzori straddle the equator in the heart of the African continent; there unique scenery and wildlife are recognised by there status as a World Heritage site. They lie along the border between the Republic of Uganda and the Demorcratic Republic of the Congo, rising some 4000m above the level of the Western Rift Valley. Unlike other East African mountains this is a complex of distinct mountains about 110 km long by 50km wide and offers unique possibilities to not only climbers but adventurous walkers as well.
Not just a catalogue of route descriptions, includes potted history of Uganda, the Congo and local Bakonao people.
